Newborn
Timing
Schedule the best time for your baby, working your appointment around naps and feedings. It’s best if you don’t try to fit your baby into our schedule. If possible, schedule an appointment around your baby’s routine.
What to wear
Age-appropriate baby clothes. Avoid a collar that tends to bunch up. Onesies and special outfits are good options.
What to bring
Diapers, a pacifier, a brush, a change of clothes, a favorite blanket or toy, and a cloth/towel for drool or spit-ups.
What to expect
During your portrait session, we might suggest a pose for your baby without a diaper, so have extras with you. Be prepared for your photographer to ask you to jump into a portrait with your baby. Capturing your baby’s tiny feet or hands beside yours is just one idea for a portrait you’ll cherish forever. So be sure you’re well groomed and don’t have chipped nail polish when you bring your baby to the studio for portraits.
Tip
Bring a few baby gifts you’ve received to use as props. Familiar items make babies more at ease. And Grandma would love a portrait of her grandbaby posing with the blanket she made.
